SLOW DOWN

In 2017, the Belgian choreographer Isabella Soupart and the British visual artist Jonathan Sullam took over the great hall of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts with fifteen dancers. They were inspired by some of the works, including « Days of September 1830 », a monumental work on the Belgian revolution by the painter Gustave Wappers. In this video/performance, dancer Sara Tan explores the relationship between traditional Japanese combat dances and Wappers’ work.
